Part-time and full-time study
1 or 2 subjects are classed as part-time and 3 or 4 as full-time study.
How many subjects can I undertake?
Local students are Australian/New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents. Local students can register for a minimum 6 (cp) credit points (generally 1 subject a semester) or a maximum 24 credit points (generally 4 subjects a semester). Summer Session offers a maximum 12 credit points (2 subjects).
International students are "temporary" or "provisional" permanent residents or applicants without Australian or New Zealand citizenship or without Australian permanent residency. International students must undertake full-time study: a maximum 24 credit points (4 subjects a semester) or a minimum of 18 credit points (3 subjects a semester) to meet requirements of DIMIA (website).
Class timetables
Morning, afternoon and evening classes are generally held weekly for 3hrs per subject. The standard timetable for teaching is 1 class a week per subject for 13 weeks from 6-9pm.
While we don't offer distance or correspondence "courses" we do offer some courses and subjects in intensive (block) modes of attendance and some "subjects" via distance/correspondence. Intensive classes are run in longer sessions over fewer days. Rather than attending a weekly 3hr class, students attend for 5-6 days from 9am-5pm.
Your timetable will depend on the subjects you choose and when you choose to study them. For more information visit UTS: Class timetable.
International exchange
The international exchange sub-major in our MBA program allows you to complete part of your study overseas. While you can also apply for international exchange in the Master of Business or Master of Management programs, it is complicated as no exchange component exists and you need to match each course subject-to-subject to ensure you can graduate. You can only apply for international exchange during your 2nd or 3rd semester of study. For more information visit - UTS: International Exchange.
Articulation (course progression)
Most programs enable students to directly apply for a master degree or instead progress/advance their study via the respective 3-4 subject graduate certificate, 8 subject graduate diploma and 12-16 subject master degree.
