Single Subject (non-award) Study

Where award study refers to the awarding of a formal qualification (degree, certificate, diploma etc), non-award study refers to enrolment in subject(s) which don't count toward formal qualification. NOTE: postgraduate non-award subjects can be considered for Recognition of Prior Learning when a student submits an application to undertake a postgraduate award course.

Non-award study enables students to study individual subjects from an award course without undertaking the award qualification. Note: applicants must still meet the entry requirements of the award course the subject belongs to as well as any prerequisites or corequisites of the subject.

  • NOTE:
  • Non-Award study is only available to local students (Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents).
  • Only students currently studying at UTS can apply to undertake subjects in Summer Session.
