Lean Six Sigma Training at UTS
UTS offers an intensive progressive program in Lean Six Sigma training, aligned with benchmarks for Six Sigma standards worldwide. A broad range of programs are offered to cater for different knowledge needs and flexibility requirements.
The Lean Six Sigma program is hands-on and practical, delivered as a progressive series of training modules that enables those with little or no experience to gradually build and expand on their skills and knowledge of Lean Six Sigma. Participants with significant experience who wish to apply for exemption should contact Executive Development for details on how to commence the process of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
UTS Lean Six Sigma Program Progression
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is the highest belt colour and demonstrates an advanced level of competency. The UTS Lean Six Sigma program has been designed to encourage and enable participants to reach this goal.

Lean Six Sigma Foundations - 1 day program This foundation training program outlines the key principles and practices of Lean Six Sigma. It is an ideal introduction for those new to this methodology, or for those keen to consolidate their training and knowledge in this area. Not just theoretical, the Lean Six Sigma Foundations program gives participants an opportunity to test out how the methodology works in a hands-on simulation project.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt - 5 day program The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training program equips participants with the skills and knowledge to help facilitate and support an organisation's improvement program. Green Belt training enables second level development for business improvement facilitators and project managers.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification - execution of Project Impovement Plan A self-driven certification process, this program gives formal recognition of a candidate's ability to devise and execute a Project Improvement Plan. The certificaiton process includes one-on-one coaching sessions with Master Black Belts.

Step 3a: |
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt - 10 day program delivered in two stages, each with one-week duration Black Belts are equipped with the skills and expertise to manage more complex projects within an organisation, often working across more than one business group. Black Belts are able to lead an improvement program for business divisions, groups or units, using sophisticated analysis methods and change management techniques. This program is delivered in two stages, each stage comprising five consecutive days. Stage two of this program emphasises techniques for creative solution development, statistical process control and experiment design.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification - execution of Project Impovement Plan A self-driven certification process, this program gives formal recognition of a candidate's ability to devise and execute a complex Project Improvement Plan. The certificaiton process includes one-on-one coaching sessions with Master Black Belts. Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is a pre-requisite for this program.

Leadership for Business Improvement
This is a two-day program designed for organisational leadership groups. It aims to:
- clarify the process of aligning a business improvement methodology like Lean Six Sigma to a strategic business plan, budget plan, and/ or Balanced Score Card
- provide senior management the experience of a simulation improvement project, so they can better understand their role as improvement project sponsors
- Facilitate a planning session for developing a practical improvement plan and a set of realistic and beneficial improvement projects for the organisation.
Minimum numbers apply to this program.
Green Belt and Black Belt Coaching
Additional coaching and mentoring is available for Green Belts and Black Belts. This may be done in small groups or on a one-on-one basis, and is offered on a per session basis.
