Chris Athanasiadis Sports Management Graduate

Chris is now one of the Managing Directors (co-owners) of DreamEvents, a sports management company and has commenced a PhD in Sports Development.
Chris Athanasiadis was the Deputy Competition Manager for Athletics in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Athens 2004.
Chris' main duty during the Games was the operational planning and co-ordination of the Athletics Competition Management. His most memorable achievement was the involvement since formation in the planning of the shot put competition at Ancient Olympia.
With the Athens Games now over, Chris says that "being a staff member of a dreamed Olympics, is in itself an exquisitely remarkable feat".
He is positive his Master of Management degree in Sport Management from UTS provided him with the necessary theoretical background to overcome the difficulties arising from such a demanding position.
For crucial experience, in 2000 Chris had a significant role collaborating with the organising committee of the Sydney Olympics as the Handball training sites manager and was Goalball sports equipment supervisor for the Sydney Paralympics.

Being at the centre of the world's attention for a long period of time.
Your first paid job?
Athletics coach for Arhelaos Sports Club at my hometown, Katerini, Greece.
Whose job do you most covet?
No one in particular. I would like to have the continuation of intense, challenging periods with interludes of serenity that keep me fresh and alive.
