Seeing the development of the events industry over the past twenty years it became apparent that recognised qualifications, as well as particular experience, has become a pre-requisite to secure quality employment within this very competitive industry.
As an industry consultant I am regularly being assessed on my qualifications and the efforts I have made in gaining an understanding of my profession.
Although there is no substitute for hands-on training, my academic studies provided me with a broader overview of the events industry which diversified and extended my career potential greatly.
The fact that UTS has been at the forefront of event management training for
the past seven years was a major influence on my decision to undertake a Master
of Management in Event Management at UTS and I believe I benefited greatly
from the lecturers combined wealth of industry experience.
Career Profile
Anthony has been working in the entertainment and events industry for over twenty years and has a wealth of experience in production management, hospitality, venue & event management and has specialised in entertainment industry risk management and OHS management systems since 1994.
Over the past four years Anthony has managed health and safety for some of Australia's largest festival and production companies and more recently event managed the Australian National Salsa Championships held in Sydney in 2005.
