I chose UTS over other MBA providers for the reputation of its Business Faculty, its hands-on practical approach to learning, quality lecturers, student support network, modern facilities, competitive fees, course structure and proximity to the Sydney CBD.

I commenced my studies in 2001 part time while working in the legal industry before making the transition to full time study to fast track my career change into operations & change management consulting.

UTS has given me the confidence to apply my learning, refine, develop and believe in my skills, apply them to another industry and take a strategic view of businesses.

Since completing my MBA in 2003, I've worked as a Management Consultant for a Consulting Firm in Australia, NZ and the UK and more recently started my own consulting business, Kanturek & Associates Consulting Services, www.kanturek.com.au.

Specialising in the Coal Mining and Power Utility Industries, I go underground to observe their operations and identify opportunities for improvement. I then coach the managers, supervisors and crews through the change process.

Often the "first female underground" on many work sites, the lack of acceptance, inadequate facilities and demands of time and travel are some of the challenges which the UTS MBA has equipped me for.

More recently, I've returned to UTS as a guest speaker to give a talk on "Women in a Man's World". I'm also an active member of the UTS:Business Network, which enables me to continue developing within the learning environment and build networks both locally and internationally.

I'm also involved in the UTS MBA Mentoring Program, which I highly recommend as it's given me the career guidance and support since finishing my MBA.
