The MBA program enabled Joyce to move seamlessly from the public to the private sector. The MBA provided her with the framework and language with which to understand and analyse the concepts of business. Armed with the MBA she moved into roles in the private sector where she consults to and is constantly interacting with senior managers.
Joyce picked UTS for its proximity to work. She also liked that most of her MBA colleagues were part-time students who similarly had to juggle work and family commitments with study. These part-time students introduced industry relevance to the course. The networks with which she has been involved since she finished the MBA in 1995 have enabled her to keep in touch with the contacts made during the MBA program.
Current Position

At Amrop Joyce worked as part of a consulting team conducting high level executive searches for blue chip companies and major public sector organisations across a spread of industries, including advanced technology, manufacturing and education. In 1997, Joyce joined Spencer Stuart & Associates, another of the top 5 executive search firms where she continued specialising in top team searches.
She was invited to join the Executive Search and Selection Business of the PA Consulting Group in 1999 and transferred to Futurestep in 2000, following the purchase of PA's Executive Search and Selection Business by Futurestep's parent, Korn / Ferry International.
Joyce joined Keene Consulting in 2001. At Keene she won and executed senior level executive searches and recruitment assignments. While continuing to work in advanced technology and manufacturing, she also built a highly successful practice in the education sector, particularly in international education. She has successfully conducted senior level assignments in several Asia Pacific countries, including Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Prior to the commencement of her career in executive search and recruitment, Joyce was a senior conference producer for the International Institute of Research for two years. There she produced a number of very successful conferences for the Higher Education and Vocational Education Sectors, thereby laying the groundwork for her depth of understanding of Education.
Joyce spent the earlier part of her career in senior policy and research roles in the NSW Public Service.
Joyce graduated with an MBA from UTS in 1995. Her undergraduate qualifications include the BA Dip Ed from Macquarie University and the Graduate Diploma in Library Science from Kuring-Gai College of Advanced Education (now UTS:Graduate School of Business).
